# WNYC vs Archinect

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Archinect at 83% against WNYC's 31%. Archinect also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.6). WNYC's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 10 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

WNYC holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WNYC has 793 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of WNYC's written reviews are positive against 83% of Archinect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WNYC ships an update every 2 months, Archinect every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
