# Camera Eye (Former Easy Calc) vs Screen Recorder

The clearest difference is ads: Camera Eye (Former Easy Calc) at none against Screen Recorder's shown. Screen Recorder's advantage is ratings volume (112K vs 1.2K) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Camera Eye (Former Easy Calc) sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Screen Recorder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Screen Recorder holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Screen Recorder has 112K ratings behind it against 1.2K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of Camera Eye (Former Easy Calc)'s written reviews are positive against 33% of Screen Recorder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
