# Reminder & Countdown vs Birthday Planner Pro

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Reminder & Countdown at none against Birthday Planner Pro's 2. Reminder & Countdown also leads on ratings volume (17K vs 54) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 11 months). Birthday Planner Pro's advantage is device support (4 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Birthday Planner Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 6 months. Reminder & Countdown asks for nothing beyond the download.

Reminder & Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Reminder & Countdown has 17K ratings behind it against 54, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Reminder & Countdown's written reviews are positive against 93% of Birthday Planner Pro's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Reminder & Countdown ships an update every 3 months, Birthday Planner Pro every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
