# Decimator vs Crate & Barrel

The clearest difference is ads: Decimator at none against Crate & Barrel's shown. Decimator also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.0). Crate & Barrel's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 9 months) and rating (4.7 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Crate & Barrel holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Crate & Barrel has 14K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 56% and 55% positive.

Decimator ships an update every 9 months, Crate & Barrel every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
