# Ascent vs Saturn

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Ascent at none against Saturn's 1. Ascent also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (16 vs 1). Saturn's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 10 months vs every 46 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Saturn sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Ascent asks for nothing beyond the download.

Saturn holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ascent has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ascent ships an update every 46 months, Saturn every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
