# Pixel Mall vs My Cat Diary

The clearest difference is rating: My Cat Diary at 4.5 against Pixel Mall's 3.6. Pixel Mall's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (weekly vs every 7 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pixel Mall sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and My Cat Diary sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

My Cat Diary holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pixel Mall has 1.7K ratings behind it against 133, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Pixel Mall's written reviews are positive against 69% of My Cat Diary's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pixel Mall ships an update weekly, My Cat Diary every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
