# SmartHub vs McGas Propane

The clearest difference is rating: McGas Propane at 5.0 against SmartHub's 2.7. McGas Propane also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). SmartHub's advantage is ratings volume (2K vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

McGas Propane holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SmartHub has 2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SmartHub ships an update every 2 months, McGas Propane every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
