# GoodHomes vs Open Source For You

The clearest difference is monetization model: GoodHomes at free with in-app purchases against Open Source For You's subscription. Open Source For You's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 55%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GoodHomes sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per year and Open Source For You sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GoodHomes ships an update every 6 months, Open Source For You every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
