# Night Sky vs Satellite Tracker in AR

The clearest difference is price: Night Sky at Free against Satellite Tracker in AR's $2.99. Night Sky also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.0) and update cadence (monthly vs every 11 months). Satellite Tracker in AR's advantage is review sentiment (83% vs 63%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.4). On ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Night Sky is free to download; Satellite Tracker in AR costs $2.99 up front. Night Sky sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days and Satellite Tracker in AR sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Night Sky holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Night Sky has 498K ratings behind it against 98, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Night Sky's written reviews are positive against 83% of Satellite Tracker in AR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Night Sky ships an update monthly, Satellite Tracker in AR every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
