# Seconds Interval Timer vs Instruct

The clearest difference is monetization model: Seconds Interval Timer at free with in-app purchases against Instruct's subscription. Seconds Interval Timer also leads on ratings volume (24K vs 5) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Instruct's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 75%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Seconds Interval Timer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Instruct sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Instruct holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Seconds Interval Timer has 24K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.
