# Breakout® vs Classic Pong!

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Classic Pong! at none against Breakout®'s 5. Classic Pong! also leads on review sentiment (71% vs 63%). Breakout®'s advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (3.5K vs 61). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Breakout® sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Classic Pong! asks for nothing beyond the download.

Breakout® holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Breakout® has 3.5K ratings behind it against 61, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Breakout®'s written reviews are positive against 71% of Classic Pong!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Breakout® ships an update monthly, Classic Pong! every 12 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
