# Alarm Clock HD vs Flip Clock

Alarm Clock HD and Flip Clock both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 71% of Flip Clock's written reviews are positive against 32% of Alarm Clock HD's. Flip Clock also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). Alarm Clock HD's advantage is ratings volume (104K vs 497). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Alarm Clock HD sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month and Flip Clock sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Alarm Clock HD holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Alarm Clock HD has 104K ratings behind it against 497, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Alarm Clock HD's written reviews are positive against 71% of Flip Clock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Alarm Clock HD ships an update fortnightly, Flip Clock every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
