# 4 vs Gridiron Studs

The clearest difference is price: Gridiron Studs at Free against 4's $3.99. Gridiron Studs also leads on rating (4.4 vs 3.3) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 10 months). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Gridiron Studs is free to download; 4 costs $3.99 up front. 4 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Gridiron Studs sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gridiron Studs holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Gridiron Studs has 35 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of 4's written reviews are positive against 78% of Gridiron Studs's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

4 ships an update every 10 months, Gridiron Studs every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
