# Aviation Exam vs Instrument Proficiency Prep

The clearest difference is update cadence: Aviation Exam at every 2 months against Instrument Proficiency Prep's every 10 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aviation Exam sells 30 one-off in-app purchases and Instrument Proficiency Prep sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aviation Exam ships an update every 2 months, Instrument Proficiency Prep every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
