# Fishbrain vs XForce

The clearest difference is rating: Fishbrain at 4.7 against XForce's 3.6. Fishbrain also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (77K vs 10). XForce's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fishbrain sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. XForce asks for nothing beyond the download.

Fishbrain holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fishbrain has 77K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Fishbrain's written reviews are positive against 47% of XForce's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fishbrain ships an update fortnightly, XForce every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
