The clearest difference is price: Magnifying Glass w/ Light Pro at $1.99 against Things 3's $9.99. Magnifying Glass w/ Light Pro also leads on review sentiment (85% vs 77%) and iOS requirement (9.3 vs 16.4). Things 3's advantage is ratings volume (28K vs 281) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Magnifying Glass w/ Light Pro costs $1.99 and Things 3 $9.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Things 3 holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6.
