# Distance Tool vs onAverage

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: onAverage at none against Distance Tool's 6. onAverage also leads on review sentiment (67% vs 58%) and iOS requirement (13.6 vs 16.0). Distance Tool's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 7) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 6 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Distance Tool sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. onAverage asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Distance Tool against 4.4 for onAverage. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Distance Tool has 2.2K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 58% of Distance Tool's written reviews are positive against 67% of onAverage's.

Distance Tool ships an update every 2 months, onAverage every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
