# Distance Tool vs Distance Comparison Map

The clearest difference is rating: Distance Tool at 4.4 against Distance Comparison Map's 1.0. Distance Tool also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 2). Distance Comparison Map's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (67% vs 59%). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Distance Tool sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Distance Comparison Map asks for nothing beyond the download.

Distance Tool holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Distance Tool has 2.1K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of Distance Tool's written reviews are positive against 67% of Distance Comparison Map's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
