# 7 Planets vs Decodex

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Decodex at 100% against 7 Planets's 39%. Decodex also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.7) and update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 months). 7 Planets's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (15 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 7 Planets sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Decodex sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Decodex holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 7 Planets has 15 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 39% of 7 Planets's written reviews are positive against 100% of Decodex's.

7 Planets ships an update every 4 months, Decodex every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
