# Index.hu vs Hungary Today

The clearest difference is rating: Index.hu at 4.5 against Hungary Today's 3.0. Index.hu also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 27 months) and ratings volume (319 vs 2). Hungary Today's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Index.hu holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Index.hu has 319 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Index.hu's written reviews are positive against 33% of Hungary Today's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Index.hu ships an update fortnightly, Hungary Today every 27 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
