# Index.hu vs Újbuda

The clearest difference is rating: Újbuda at 5.0 against Index.hu's 4.5. Újbuda also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Index.hu's advantage is review sentiment (32% vs 0%) and ratings volume (318 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Újbuda holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Index.hu has 318 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Index.hu's written reviews are positive against 0% of Újbuda's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Index.hu ships an update fortnightly, Újbuda every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
