# Daily Notes vs Paper

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Daily Notes at none against Paper's 3. Daily Notes also leads on ratings volume (144 vs 2). Paper's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paper sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Daily Notes asks for nothing beyond the download.

Paper holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Daily Notes has 144 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 84% of Daily Notes's written reviews are positive against 100% of Paper's.

Daily Notes ships an update every 3 months, Paper fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
