# Calypso Score vs Blackbinder

The clearest difference is update cadence: Blackbinder at fortnightly against Calypso Score's every 3 months. Blackbinder also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (79 vs 24). Calypso Score's advantage is review sentiment (77% vs 55%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Calypso Score sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 3 months and Blackbinder sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Blackbinder holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 24 and 79 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of Calypso Score's written reviews are positive against 55% of Blackbinder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Calypso Score ships an update every 3 months, Blackbinder fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
