# iCue vs PromptSmart+

The clearest difference is price: PromptSmart+ at Free against iCue's $7.99. PromptSmart+ also leads on rating (4.5 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (570 vs 6). iCue's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and review sentiment (44% vs 29%). On update cadence, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

PromptSmart+ is free to download; iCue costs $7.99 up front. PromptSmart+ sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. iCue asks for nothing beyond the download.

PromptSmart+ holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PromptSmart+ has 570 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of iCue's written reviews are positive against 29% of PromptSmart+'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iCue ships an update every 2 months, PromptSmart+ every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
