# Elevation vs Altitude Measurement

The clearest difference is rating: Elevation at 4.5 against Altitude Measurement's 2.0. Elevation also leads on update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 13 months) and ratings volume (5.5K vs 30). Altitude Measurement's advantage is monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Elevation sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month and Altitude Measurement sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Elevation holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Elevation has 5.5K ratings behind it against 30, so its average is the more settled of the two.
