# Canvas by Instructure vs BabsonMobile

The clearest difference is rating: Canvas by Instructure at 4.7 against BabsonMobile's 3.7. Canvas by Instructure also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (2.8M vs 3). BabsonMobile's advantage is review sentiment (40% vs 27%) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Canvas by Instructure holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Canvas by Instructure has 2.8M ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 27% of Canvas by Instructure's written reviews are positive against 40% of BabsonMobile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Canvas by Instructure ships an update every 3 weeks, BabsonMobile every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
