# LetterSchool vs LeapFrog Academy™ Learning

LetterSchool and LeapFrog Academy™ Learning both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 55% of LetterSchool's written reviews are positive against 17% of LeapFrog Academy™ Learning's. LetterSchool also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (17K vs 1.9K). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LetterSchool sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and LeapFrog Academy™ Learning sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LetterSchool holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LetterSchool has 17K ratings behind it against 1.9K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 55% of LetterSchool's written reviews are positive against 17% of LeapFrog Academy™ Learning's.

LetterSchool ships an update every 2 months, LeapFrog Academy™ Learning every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
