# LetterSchool vs ABC

The clearest difference is ads: LetterSchool at none against ABC's shown. LetterSchool also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (17K vs 2.9K). ABC's advantage is update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LetterSchool sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and ABC sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LetterSchool holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LetterSchool has 17K ratings behind it against 2.9K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 55% of LetterSchool's written reviews are positive against 50% of ABC's.

LetterSchool ships an update every 2 months, ABC every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
