# Repeat Timer vs Chime

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Chime at none against Repeat Timer's 7. Chime also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Repeat Timer's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Repeat Timer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Chime asks for nothing beyond the download.

Repeat Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Repeat Timer has 7.4K ratings behind it against 820, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 64% of Repeat Timer's written reviews are positive against 45% of Chime's.

Repeat Timer ships an update every 3 weeks, Chime every 5 months. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
