# Stromboscope vs Strobe Light

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Stromboscope at none against Strobe Light's 6. Stromboscope also leads on review sentiment (61% vs 45%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Strobe Light's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 61 months). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Strobe Light sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Stromboscope asks for nothing beyond the download.

Strobe Light holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Strobe Light has 3.8K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Stromboscope's written reviews are positive against 45% of Strobe Light's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Stromboscope ships an update every 61 months, Strobe Light monthly. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
