# BigSeed vs Osmo Newton

The clearest difference is monetization model: BigSeed at free against Osmo Newton's free with in-app purchases. BigSeed also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 65%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Osmo Newton's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 10 months) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Osmo Newton holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 138 and 384 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 77% of BigSeed's written reviews are positive against 65% of Osmo Newton's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BigSeed ships an update every 10 months, Osmo Newton every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
