# Warlord Chess Lite vs Chess Move

The clearest difference is rating: Chess Move at 4.3 against Warlord Chess Lite's 3.5. Chess Move also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 8 months) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 13). Warlord Chess Lite's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 17) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chess Move sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Warlord Chess Lite asks for nothing beyond the download.

Chess Move holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chess Move has 1.1K ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Warlord Chess Lite's written reviews are positive against 27% of Chess Move's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Warlord Chess Lite ships an update every 8 months, Chess Move every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
