# Yapp vs IBOCity

The clearest difference is update cadence: Yapp at fortnightly against IBOCity's every 2 months. Yapp also leads on review sentiment (56% vs 38%) and chart position (#195 vs unranked). IBOCity's advantage is rating (3.9 vs 3.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

IBOCity holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yapp has 100 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Yapp's written reviews are positive against 38% of IBOCity's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Yapp ships an update fortnightly, IBOCity every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 25, 2026 respectively.
