# Happy Fish + vs Herding Cats

The clearest difference is rating: Herding Cats at 5.0 against Happy Fish +'s 4.5. Happy Fish +'s advantage is ratings volume (1K vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Happy Fish + sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and Herding Cats sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Herding Cats holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Happy Fish + has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Happy Fish + ships an update every 3 months, Herding Cats every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
