# HARDLINE Chat vs ChaïZen

The clearest difference is rating: ChaïZen at 5.0 against HARDLINE Chat's 2.8. HARDLINE Chat's advantage is monetization model (free vs freemium) and ratings volume (20 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HARDLINE Chat sells 6 one-off in-app purchases and ChaïZen sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ChaïZen holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HARDLINE Chat has 20 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
