# Mary vs Tarpup

The clearest difference is update cadence: Tarpup at every 6 days against Mary's every 3 months. Tarpup also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Mary's advantage is ratings volume (544 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Tarpup holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mary has 544 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Mary ships an update every 3 months, Tarpup every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
