# Firefighter Pocketbook vs EMT Prep

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Firefighter Pocketbook at 88% against EMT Prep's 25%. Firefighter Pocketbook also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 13.0). EMT Prep's advantage is price (Free vs $4.99) and update cadence (monthly vs every 25 months). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

EMT Prep is free to download; Firefighter Pocketbook costs $4.99 up front. EMT Prep sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Firefighter Pocketbook asks for nothing beyond the download.

EMT Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: EMT Prep has 1.6K ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Firefighter Pocketbook's written reviews are positive against 25% of EMT Prep's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Firefighter Pocketbook ships an update every 25 months, EMT Prep monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
