# iStopMotion vs SELPHY Photo Layout

The clearest difference is price: SELPHY Photo Layout at Free against iStopMotion's $9.99. SELPHY Photo Layout also leads on rating (4.7 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (23K vs 23). iStopMotion's advantage is review sentiment (63% vs 37%) and chart position (#194 vs unranked). On update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

SELPHY Photo Layout is free to download; iStopMotion costs $9.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SELPHY Photo Layout holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SELPHY Photo Layout has 23K ratings behind it against 23, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of iStopMotion's written reviews are positive against 37% of SELPHY Photo Layout's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iStopMotion ships an update every 2 months, SELPHY Photo Layout every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
