# TimeboxApp vs Focus

The clearest difference is rating: Focus at 4.4 against TimeboxApp's 3.5. Focus also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (1.8K vs 2). TimeboxApp's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 9) and iOS requirement (10.3 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Focus sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. TimeboxApp asks for nothing beyond the download.

Focus holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Focus has 1.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of TimeboxApp's written reviews are positive against 57% of Focus's.

TimeboxApp ships an update every 6 months, Focus every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on September 16, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
