# RTÉ Player vs GO+

The clearest difference is rating: RTÉ Player at 4.7 against GO+'s 2.3. RTÉ Player also leads on review sentiment (46% vs 10%) and ratings volume (6.3K vs 166). GO+'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

RTÉ Player holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RTÉ Player has 6.3K ratings behind it against 166, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 46% of RTÉ Player's written reviews are positive against 10% of GO+'s.

RTÉ Player ships an update every 5 weeks, GO+ every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
