# Freading vs OCPLVA

The clearest difference is rating: Freading at 4.6 against OCPLVA's 3.5. Freading also leads on ratings volume (2.8K vs 2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). OCPLVA's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 9 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Freading holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Freading has 2.8K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Freading ships an update every 9 months, OCPLVA every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
