# DJcity vs VARI Series

The clearest difference is monetization model: VARI Series at free against DJcity's freemium. VARI Series also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 81%). DJcity's advantage is ratings volume (1.3K vs 8) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DJcity holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DJcity has 1.3K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of DJcity's written reviews are positive against 100% of VARI Series's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DJcity ships an update every 4 months, VARI Series every 8 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
