# NYU Mobile vs CampusGroups

The clearest difference is rating: CampusGroups at 4.4 against NYU Mobile's 2.3. CampusGroups also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (5.3K vs 29). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CampusGroups holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CampusGroups has 5.3K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of NYU Mobile's written reviews are positive against 12% of CampusGroups's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NYU Mobile ships an update every 7 months, CampusGroups every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
