# FreEWI vs ChordMaps2

The clearest difference is price: FreEWI at Free against ChordMaps2's $9.99. FreEWI also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 82%) and device support (3 vs 1). ChordMaps2's advantage is rating (4.1 vs 3.5) and ratings volume (26 vs 2). On update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

FreEWI is free to download; ChordMaps2 costs $9.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ChordMaps2 holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ChordMaps2 has 26 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of FreEWI's written reviews are positive against 82% of ChordMaps2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FreEWI ships an update every 11 months, ChordMaps2 every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
