# Calculator‰ vs Notepad

The clearest difference is rating: Calculator‰ at 4.9 against Notepad's 2.7. Calculator‰ also leads on review sentiment (70% vs 41%) and ratings volume (409K vs 10). Notepad's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Calculator‰ holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calculator‰ has 409K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 70% of Calculator‰'s written reviews are positive against 41% of Notepad's.

Calculator‰ ships an update every 5 months, Notepad every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
