# Magisto Video Editor & Maker vs Carousel Camera

The clearest difference is rating: Magisto Video Editor & Maker at 4.6 against Carousel Camera's 2.7. Magisto Video Editor & Maker also leads on ratings volume (123K vs 3) and chart position (#187 vs unranked). Carousel Camera's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 39%) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Magisto Video Editor & Maker sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Carousel Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Magisto Video Editor & Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Magisto Video Editor & Maker has 123K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of Magisto Video Editor & Maker's written reviews are positive against 50% of Carousel Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Magisto Video Editor & Maker ships an update every 2 weeks, Carousel Camera every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 8, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
