# Open Source For You vs OutThere magazine

The clearest difference is monetization model: OutThere magazine at free with in-app purchases against Open Source For You's subscription. Open Source For You's advantage is update cadence (every 4 months vs every 10 months) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Open Source For You sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and OutThere magazine sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $17.49 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Open Source For You ships an update every 4 months, OutThere magazine every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 1, 2026 respectively.
