# French by Nemo vs Learn Dutch For Beginners

The clearest difference is rating: French by Nemo at 4.7 against Learn Dutch For Beginners's 4.2. French by Nemo also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (12K vs 22). Learn Dutch For Beginners's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 4 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. French by Nemo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Learn Dutch For Beginners sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

French by Nemo holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: French by Nemo has 12K ratings behind it against 22, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of French by Nemo's written reviews are positive against 100% of Learn Dutch For Beginners's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

French by Nemo ships an update every 4 months, Learn Dutch For Beginners every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
