# German by Nemo vs Learn German

The clearest difference is review sentiment: German by Nemo at 85% against Learn German's 33%. German by Nemo also leads on ratings volume (9.6K vs 2) and device support (3 vs 1). Learn German's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. German by Nemo sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Learn German sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Learn German holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: German by Nemo has 9.6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of German by Nemo's written reviews are positive against 33% of Learn German's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
