# Interval Training Timer vs Workout Timer

The clearest difference is rating: Workout Timer at 4.7 against Interval Training Timer's 3.3. Workout Timer also leads on ratings volume (23 vs 4). Interval Training Timer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Workout Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Workout Timer has 23 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 85% of Interval Training Timer's written reviews are positive against 80% of Workout Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Interval Training Timer ships an update every 6 weeks, Workout Timer every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 17, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
